- Whole Tract Digestibilities
- Ileal Amino Acid Digestibilities
Do you need digestibility values?
Your clients may request ileal amino acid or digestibility values for your feedstuffs. Or they may ask whether your new feed additive improves the digestibility of dietary fractions. Providing such information would allow your clients to use your feedstuffs or feed additive most effectively and allow them to make comparisons against industry ingredient standards.
The nutritive value of feedstuffs is not entirely reflected by its gross energy and total chemical content.. Different nutrient fractions have different digestibilities. Factors such as water content, chemical composition of fibre, protein content, ration composition, processing, particle size and rate of passage impact nutrient digestibility. Site of digestion and endogenous secretions are particularly important in determining amino acid digestibility. Thus, determining nutrient digestibilities helps to more accurately predict the proportion of each nutrient that has value to the animal.

Do You Have a New Product, Process or Technique?
New technologies have the potential to either improve or reduce herd reproductive efficiency. Reducing the risk associated with introducing these technologies is the role of near-market research. We offer you the opportunity to test new technologies under tightly controlled, near-market-like conditions to determine their likely success and economic impact.
Reproductive Studies
Prairie Swine Centre Inc. not only offers you access to different size sow herds, boar studs, and AI facilities but also ultimate control. Unlike field studies conducted on large commercial farms, we are in control of your study, which protects your investment in research and development.
