Profitability of swine production will be improved with any measure that reduces production cost. Using energy efficiently will help reduce the cost of energy. This can be done in the area of space heating. Energy consumption, in barn environment and animal productivity were observed when using different space heating options. Compared to the conventional heater, the heat exchanger and ground source heat pump led to reductions of 52% and 39% in energy consumption respectively, after one heating system.
